I've known knifemakers fall behind due to health problems and other personal problems, but reputable makers explain this to their customers. Going silent or spinning yarns or just lying is not how you keep customers and in this era of instant communications and screen shots it is a way to wreck your business.

Agreed, communications is easy in this age of forums, cell phone texts, IG, FB and old email. Communication is a key part to being in touch with collectors and it is simply poor business practice to ghost or go silent. This type of stuff happens enough in this industry.
