These magazines for the Dagger and Glock 43x/48 have been out for a while now. There had been some reports of feed issues due to plastic flashing lining the magazines. I'm wondering if anyone who's been using them has an update on their reliability.

If we're talking about the same thing, a buddy fought a long war trying to get his G43 to run reliably with 10 round aftermarket magazines. This, after several back and forths with the manufacturer, who was very supportive. He finally said the hell with it, and just went with his P365.
Personally, I'm skeptical of messing with magazines; OEM make millions of mags; aftermarket folks make thousands of their mods.
That is just me; realize many out there love their modded magazines. :)

It's a different magazine I'm referring to. It's the 15 round magazine from Palmetto State Armory.

These are the magazines I'm asking about. I also attached a link to one of the previous threads discussing the issue.

TomJ I don't have an answer to your question. The only Dagger I own is a compact. If you don't find the information you are looking for here there is a PSA Dagger group on F-book. You might find more people with experience with the magazines there. If plastic flashing is the issue I might just buy them & disassemble them to inspect & see if the flashing is there. If it is you could either remove it or contact PSA & see if they would resolve the issue for you. I have no experience with their customer service but I have read positive things.

I held off on buying Shield mags because of numerous negative reports. That, and the fact that Shield itself basically mislead consumers from the get go.

I bought two Palmetto Micro Dagger mags (micro slick version) last August and have run around 200 rounds through each with no problems. Those rounds included 135gr Fed HydraShok HP, 115/124/147gr fmj, and 115/124/147 HP. One box of 9mm+P. I did not try 9mm+P+.

I'm satisfied enough that those two mags that I carry them in my 43X carry gun.

Now I'm just waiting on PSA to sell the complete Micro Dagger in a range case with ten mags like they did with the Dagger and Dagger Compact.

I thought the Daggers were shipped with a Pmag?

WB
Dagger and Dagger Compact are compatible with Glock double stack mags for the G17 and G19 respectively.
The Micro Dagger is compatible with the Glock 43X and 48 which come from Glock with single stack ten round magazines.

I bought 2 of the micro slick ones also. Work flawlessly in my 43x and my grandson’s 43x. He’s appropriated them from me😄😄

According to ups mine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I’m reading reports that half work flawlessly and the other half have issues. I just bought the psa dagger mag for range use and will see how reliable it is. I’m gonna keep the factory 10 round mag for carry. When it comes in I’ll take it apart and look and see how much plastic is in the over mold.

Dagger mag came in just a few min ago. Spring is very tight just like everyone else said. I could only get 14 rounds in it. I’ll leave it loaded a few weeks to see if it lightens up. Just looking it over I’m actually surprised it looks pretty well made. Took it apart and the inside seems very smooth with no excess plastic. I’ll try and get to the range soon to see how reliable it is. Snapped a few photos best as I could. IMG_5345.jpeg IMG_5346.jpeg IMG_5347.jpeg IMG_5352.jpeg IMG_5351.jpeg IMG_5350.jpeg IMG_5349.jpeg

I've had my PSA mags for a while now and I still don't trust them to be 100%. Every once in a while, the ammunition will hang up in the magazine causing the slide to close on an empty chamber or I'll get a feed jam. I guess I'd say they've been about 98%.

I use these. Work well.
I been meaning to pick one of those up. I been using the one that comes with the glocks. Very slow and frustrating but it works. Even if the dagger mags work 100 percent I believe I’ll continue to carry the factory 10 round mags.

Might have to wiat a bit on getting too many more of those magazines. Shield Arms and Palmetto State Armory are duking it out in the courts over whether or not the Dagger Micro magazines are infringing on patents... Here's a link to The Firearm Blog with a brief overview and some court-related links: https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2023/11/27/lawsuit-alert-palmetto-state-armory-v-shield-arms/

For what it's worth, I was up at one of the retail PSA stores this past week, and they had no Dagger Micro pistols or magazines out. Though they did have a few slide/barrel assemblies.

No reason to wait because of that lawsuit. Shield Arms' patent is so broad that it makes it look like they are the 1st to patent the double stack magazine.

PSA still hasn't release the Micro Dagger to the general public. Which I find annoying as I just want the Micro Dagger frame for my Micro Dagger Slide.

I have both Shield Arms mags (& SA Mag Release) and PSA Micro Dagger mags - the older style. Both work just fine.

Another complaint I've read on the PSA MD mag is the base plates are bowing out. I've left my 2 loaded for a couple weeks now and do note some stress lines on the base plate. I wouldn't say it's bowing very much though.

The new mag looks to be fully metal with the front / mag catch wrapped in plastic. I like that idea better than the 1/2 metal 1/2 plastic PSA MD mags I have.
Plus it looks to ultimately solve the plastic flashing at the mag catch area problem.

Which mag do I like better? The PSA mag that uses the OEM mag release makes the most sense.
Some Shield Arms mag owners have reliability complaints on their mags. Mine work just fine w/ the SA metal mag release after an initial 15rd break in.
My 5 SA mags are generation 2.

Shield Arms now has a generation 3 magazine with these weird bumps on the back of the mag.

Yeah it’s a full metal mag now with plastic covering the front mag catch. I didn’t realize the others were half plastic half metal. Good catch! Seems like psa has made some improvements.
