What hoops must a regular citizen in NY jump through to buy an semi-auto shotgun in a private face to face sale?

I think as of this past Monday, you must use an ffl to do the nics check and transfer

Unless its a relative - your 'supposed' to take the gun to a gun shop and PAY for a NICS check.

That is the law,I hope that the shotgun is from a "family member" .

LOL, I do not live in nor will I ever live in NY. My buddy who is there because of a woman wanted to buy a shotgun, but was not sure what the law was. He contacted me, and I told him the way it is in my state, but his was undoubtedly different, especially with all the hysteria and anti-2A laws being passed.

So I naturally figured THR to be a source of sound rational knowledge.
Reading that NY website, it is a pro-2A rights biggest nightmare short of total bans/confiscation.

One of the ones that may be the most painful - marriage. We live in dark times here in NY, FTF sales are illegal now except between specific family members.

I have heard of marrying for money, but around here we may need to start marrying for guns.
