Last week I was all set to buy myself a new Purple Ruger SR-22,,,
But by the time I got myself to The Evil Pawn Shop,,,
It and the black one had sold to a hubby-wife.

Nothing convinces you that you really want something,,,
Like going to look at it and finding it's gone.

But The Evil Pawn Shop Guy came through for me again,,,
I called him yesterday around lunchtime,,,
He had just got another one in.

So despite the good-natured kidding in another thread,,,
I went there after work and bought it.

I think it's purple and therefore a gun made for royalty,,,
Ruger calls it the Lady Lilac.

Kinda reminds me of that song from the late 50's,,,
It's a Dee-Aay Ess-Aay Poly Purple Ruger Pistol. :D

I think this will be a very nice range pistol,,,
I take a lot of young ladies shooting,,,
I'll bet this becomes very popular.

Purple is the color of royalty,,,
I think I'll name her Regina.

Let the teasing begin,,,

My wife loves my all black SR22 well enough. You'll have all the girls wanting to shoot your new gun.

Congrats on the new Ruger.

But I think you'll have trouble finding shoes and purse to match it.

Doubt it, obviously you've never looked over your wife's shoulder while she was at shoedazzle.com :)

I like it better than the raspberry sr22 my GF wants. Getting ready to pull the trigger on that purchase real soon.

Have a blast.

I thought a lilac colored pistol might appeal to the young ladies.
I say congrats on the new purchase, and good on you for taking young folks shooting. If the purple color mitigates the psychological "scary black pistol" feeling a new shooter may have that's all the better. Great job on your part of thinking outside the box.

I am building a pink AR for my wife. Whatever gets more people into shooting is a good thing.

I got one of these for my daughter to shoot as an introduction to pistols. The purple is no deterrent, that is one fun to shoot little pistol. You'll love it just as much as they will. After my wife saw what I had brought home for my daughter,"only under supervision of course", she was pretty jealous that it wasn't for her.

I like that color. My wife just said, "love it!". If something so simple as color makes a person more inclined to purchase a firearm, I say bring on the colors. Great buy.

Neat gun! My only gripe is that the color seems like it makes the red on the safety switch harder to see. They could outline the red and make it easier to discern.

Hey, easy enough to do yourself with some painter's tape and model airplane paint, or probably even a Sharpie. Good suggestion, though!

Other'n that, color's just another personal preference. Me, I think guys who paint their carry/HD guns camo and coyote tan (or FDE or whatever they're calling it now) are kinda weird, but it's their choice, just like the sling or the sights or anything else. Pretty dumb thing to make fun of, IMO.

I know I have some purple dyed snakeskin somewhere,,,
I was thinking of making an inlayed holster for it.

That's... actually incredibly cool. Post some pics if you do!

^^^Funny, over my shoulder my wife said "well, maybe if it came in green..." I don't think either of us know exactly what zombie green is but I doubt that's what she had in mind.

if the purple was cheaper instead of more expensive I'd have bought it.
As it was I got the "silver slide" version for the same price as the all black.

Oh and it IS a blast to shoot it! Mine's eaten a 525rnd box of Remington Golden Bullet today. Sights were off from the factory... or Ruger's sight picture is different than HK's. Either way it's fixed since the rear is adjustable.

If you got a good price then who cares?

Gotta expect you'll get a find many more people will be interested in shooting it that might not otherwise be willing to pick up a gun.

A true patriot converts as many people as possible by the best means possible be it purple pistols, pink ear muffs, or zombie green rifles.

Tyrian Purple.
Theodora preferred to buried with it. Maybe you will too.
