Python Prices on the Rise?

GUNKWAZY - I was being sarcastic with the real estate thing. The prices here are falling like rocks in the water.
I was comparing the Python market with real estate, and how everyone was saying that the price can never drop. I kind of feel the same with the price of some guns right now, but who knows what the future will bring.
Are those all your revolvers in the picture. That is a nice collection.:D

Are those all your revolvers in the picture.

That depends on how you mean that ?
YES, those are mine and NO those are NOT all my revolvers.:D

Oh Woof!
Those are stunning GUNKWAZY! I've seen your flamed custom on the Colt Fourm, that thing is insane. :what:
After I saw that collection of your I was thinking that the real estate business in Arizona couldn't be THAT bad hehe.

Cheers!

Thanks Wildcat,
Here's another shot of the Flamethrower Python.
I love the way it came out.

Is that an Ellison rear sight? Is that a stainless python?

Yes, it's an Elliason rear sight with Patridge front sight.
Yes, it's a 6 " Stainless Python that's been ported and finished with Flames polished down the sides of the barrel.
It also has a polished band around the cylinder where the drag line would usually end up.
The Flamethrower now sports a vintage pair of laminated badger grips.
The hammer & trigger have been jeweled to enhance the (as FTF states) Pimpaliscious look.

Back in 2001, I bought a Python in very good condition. Fired, but very good.

I then decided that I wanted a NIB Python, 6" nickel. Don't know why, but I just wanted it.

I won the auction on Gunbroker.com, and paid $895 for it. It's unfired, and has the box and some, but not all, of the original papers. If it had all of them, I could probably sell it for $1600. But, it's just my only safe queen, and I doubt that I'll ever have to sell it for less than I paid.

About this time last year, I bought this Python at a pawn shop for $600.
I knew I was getting a great deal then.
I am very happy now.

The lighter grips were later.

When Colt started using the Third Type Target grips shown above, the quality of walnut started to decline in the later 1970's/early 80's, and into the end of the old style Target grips in the 90's.

You started to see plainer, less figured walnut often with knots or other defects in the wood, and the use of a light tan patching material, especially inside.

At the same time, the once dark red-brown Colt color began to lighten, first to an odd orange color, then to a near blond color.
The color fluctuated during these later years, and you'd see the orange grips intermixed with blond.

All this was simply a sign of deteriorating quality.
