Question on .22 Magnum

I've never ever ever had a misfire ever. The only times I've ever heard of anyone having a missfire on a rifle with factory loads was on older rifles with a weak firing pin spring. If you have misfires, I'd blame the gun not the ammo. Well, unless you get some factory brand that is known nation wide as being a pile of crap. The Federal brand is known as being one of the best.

not even with the walmart bulk packs of remington golden bullets and federal hi power hollowpoints?

i must be the jonah of the 22lr cheep ammo;ive had countless missfires especialy with the above 2 bulk box ammos and this from alot of different guns.

currently useing rem t-bolts and they're doing quite well as ive not had dud in perhap a 1000 rds so far

The last .22lr I had misfire was decades ago as a boy scout. I've went through boxes of bulk pack in my rugers and not even that has misfired. I've had all sorts of other strange problems (never get a teflon lube on the rails of a mark III mag and then load 22lr cb's... they can really fly out of that thing), but no problem with misfires. I supposed that rimfire ammo has gotten better, or maybe I have gotten lucky.

If the gun is not damaged from dry firing / weak spring / etc, I would consider that lot of ammo to be suspect and try other stuff. Even a good ammo manufacturer could have a problem and rimfires are more prone to having primer problems than centerfires by their very design. Modern rimfire ammo and firearms should not normally have 2 bad rounds out of 30.

2 duds out of 30rds was my rough average with the walmart remington 550 bulk pack of golden 36gr hollowpoints.

for awhile id rechamber and click em till the rim looked like a flower.

once in awhile a 2nd hit would light em.
