so I've looked through about 5 pages of threads, what surefires can you mount in a one inch scope ring? I have an extra set of rings and thinking about putting a light in one of them on the side of my CX4 Storm, and to use when I go out into the field. I'm looking at the P9 and the P6, don't know much about flashlights and figure more is better, probably would be taking it over to the sandbox with me in the future so being able to blind the crap out of people as I clear rooms is always benificial. any insight between these two products and ways to mount them on weapons would be great. thanks guys and gals.

I bought a 6P and the add on shock isolated bezel so it could be mounted on a weapon. I did not find any Surefire mounts so bought an after market barrel mount of unknow origin which worked. I bought an aftermarket a pressure switch of unknown origin which worked well and had a very long cord.

This mount is ok but it is plastic and the flashlight gets loose. It is supposed to be a quick release and it will when you work with it. It's not come off the rail so far.

Based on this listing I'm going to have to try a 1" QD ring. :)

A different idea for an AR

Surefire sells several kinds of weapon lights that have integral mounting or come with the mounts. They do not seem to want to sell pieces that allow customization except within narrow limits. This is a drawback to me. Their classic weapon light has the mount, shock isolated bezel and pressure switch included but it's 300 or so list price. I was able to make an equal by piecing it together for under 150 or so with a box of batteries.

More info here in lights.

SureFire's range is extensive and much is interchangeable. You can buy an off-the-shelf WeaponLight or you can build your own. The price for building your own will be more but it will mean you get the variation you need.

mrmeval,
I'm not sure which parts you wanted to buy (?) but it is more likely you didn't find the information required rather than it wasn't possible.

(There are some SureFire Dealers who know the in's and out's of the WeaponLight range that will be able to give you a variety of options at a range of prices)

rero360,
I'm not sure whether I'm allowed to post here contact details of two dealers. You're welcome to send me a pm or email me if you'd like.
