Anyone have a Mossberg 930? I am interested if there have been any problems. So far I have heard mostly positive things about them. Doing as much research as I can. :)

I've got 3!! Two walnut & 1 SPX...

I've had them for going on three years and have not had a single malfunction that wasn't operator induced

The 930 may not be the prettiest shotgun out there, but it is by far the best value of any shotgun on the market right now.

I got the SPX and LOATHED the front site. So I removed the the rail and had the front site hacked off and it's a dream to shoot now. The trigger is smoother than my 870 and there's very little felt recoil even with slugs and 3 inch buckshot. I hauled off and bought the 28 inch field barrel for it and it instantly became my favorite clay killer.

Had one for a turkey gun, great shooter. No complaints other than it wouldnt cycle target loads real well, but, I dont think I had enough rounds through it to break it in. Sold it for an 870 only because it plays more of a HD role.

Bought the 20 gauge version for the misses and she loves it, no problems with 200 rounds of cheap target through it so far.

I have one. I've never shot it though:eek:. So I am a bit interested to hear what people have to say. I'm not sure if I'll keep it, so I appreciate hearing peoples opinions on it and experiences with it.

I just picked up one this weekend(I love my wife!!!)I was in the market for a semi but had a pump budget, unknown to myself my wife had been putting some cash away to surprize me for our anniversary(our 12th)We went out and ran some 200 rounds through(various sizes)no complaints!!!!and no jams,Now my wife wants a shotty(here's the delema)she dosent shoot as often as i do,and before i got the 930 i was looking at the AIT 6 shot semiauto 12,that is much cheaper, but looked and felt like it was a quality piece, should i get that one or wait another 5-7 months and get another 930 for "light use?"are they any good?

I've now had time to shoot mine. I like it. I have other shotguns I shoot and thus it doesn't have a super high round count but it has been 100% so far. I've shot a few hundred rounds of everything from walmart winchester and federal bulk ammo to 3" slugs and 00 buck.

I've been very happy with it and if I had it all to do over again I would definitely still choose to buy it.

Is the 930 less punishing to practice with than an 870 with the same loads?

I'm thinking of replacing my old-school 870P with a 930 for HD duty. I think it might encourage more practice.

YES!! Because the 930 is a gas operated semi-auto, it bleeds off some of the energy to operate the bolt and cycle the gun, the result is less "perceived" recoil. The 930 is one of the softest shooting shotguns out there....
