You guys may have seen the advertisements for the new Trim-It case trimmer. I bit the bullet and bought one - it was delivered yesterday.

My first impression was - very nice build quality! Its basic premise is similar to the popular World's Finest Trimmer, but at a little added expense, the Trim-It incorporates a micrometer top section. It allows you to adjust the case trim length by simply turning the tool's body in or out. There are marks on the outer body of the tool that show .002" movements, and it is easy to set it in between in .001" increments. There's a sealed bearing with a center insert for a given cartridge fit. The tool is finished with some type of black coating and it's very nicely made.

Long story short: I put the .30-'06 bearing in, and within a minute or so I had set the trimmer up to trim to the correct length. I ran it in a hand-held flex shaft off my drill press at 800 RPM. The micrometer works as advertised - it trimmed my case to the correct length on the first try. It cut cleanly, though you will still want to chamfer the inside of the case mouth at least.

In my opinion, it's a great step forward for case trimming! Very quick to set up for different calibers, which is what I was wondering about when I bought it. I wouldn't feel bad switching to a different caliber, especially if I needed to trim a few hundred cases. Well worth the money. I'm sure that if you do a Bing search for "Trim-It case trimmer", you'll get some hits...

Swapping the die's(bearing) to another caliber is by one set screw.
The die cost($14.95) is cheap enough in the long run to be cheaper than a WFT or CTS.
They made 5.7x28 and 7.62x54r dies for me.

I'm no machinist, but it also appears that the end mill could be any end mill with a similar shank size. Meaning you could get a carbide bit and put it in there also. If you wanted one. Seems like a good deal to me. FAR easier to adjust than the WFT and its set screw. I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to setting gauges and the WFT took me a long time to get set absolutely perfectly. Not so with the Trim-It. :)

I have a similar trimmer to the trim-it called the dead-on trimmer. $80 shipped.

Was really easy to set up and shipping was fast from the guy that makes them.
