I typically use 4831 ssc but it's gotten so expensive. 180gr nosler etip. It does an excellent job on elk and antelope. It honestly probably doesn't matter. I don't shoot a whole lot of 300wm. But I'd like options.

I feel your pain. So far I have been using up my stockpile of components but soon will need to restock myself. My way of thinking is an established load that I use for hunting and only a small number of rounds a year I will bite the bullet and pony up the cash to restock. Otherwise the total amount of components used to try a different load will likely cost more than another pound or so of what you currently use. I am holding my breath and have hopes that we will see lower prices but that rarely happens once suppliers realize we were willing to pay more in the first place sadly. I tend to shift my shooting to rounds that are cheaper to produce for practice, heck even using air guns to save primers in the recent past. But for a round that is established I will keep it the same whenever it is possible. Hopefully someone that shoots this caliber can help you find something more economical to use.
