It seems like no one has ever bought or used one of these before. I've never seen any reviews. Anyway...

I got a BufferTech Jetloader, the "F" model for J-frames and SP-101s. Construction is all plastic except for the spring. Seems sturdy enough for the purpose. It holds 3 of the rounds very tight, but one always wiggles a little, and one always wiggles a little more. Doesn't interfere with use at all, though.

Loading is fairly easy. Just stuff in 5 rounds, hold them there with the palm of your hand while gripping the body of the loader, then push in the knob and rotate it. It's actuated by a button in the center, which causes the body to rotate (you hold the knob), then push forward. You can't hold onto the cylinder, or it won't be able to rotate and unlock. The spring is definitely strong enough to get the rounds all the way into the chambers from at any angle, as long as it doesn't get hung up on the grip. Whether or not they stay there is another thing entirely, though reloads with the gun horizontal are quite possible. The factory grips on the SP-101 aren't relieved quite enough for it to always get them all the way in, but that's nothing a dremel won't fix.

It's also possible to use them by gripping the body, so that the knob just snaps out when released. Then the rounds can just fall in by gravity, like a non spring-loaded speedloader.

The paper that came with it says that it can release the rounds if dropped, but I tried dropping it from waist height onto carpeted concrete a few dozen times, in all orientations, and it didn't release. Worked fine after. It may lose the rounds when dropped after it's broken in, but for now, it doesn't.

I've never used any other speedloaders except HKS ones and a homemade speedstrip, so I can't comment on how well they work compared to Safarilands, SL Variants, etc. They are definitely better than HKSs, and way better than a piece of styrofoam cut from a tray from a box of WWB.
