Hi all, just bought two new 1911s and took both to the range yesterday, ran 200 plus rounds down range and both guns shot great. I bought a Charles Daly 1911A1 EFS and installed a set of wolf springs,(it comes with a weak recoil spring so weak wrist folks can chamber a round and a firing pin spring that is to strong so it will pass the Calif drop test) both cause problems, the weak recoil causes a fail to go in battery and the strong firing pin spring causes a F/F. The wolf spring set cured both problems and the gun looks great and shoots great. The other gun is a Springfield 1911 Champion, (loaded) novak sights, extended beavertail, combat trigger and hammer, pachmayer wrap around grips. with a gereat looking stainless steel finish, etc. I dont need to say it shoots and looks great, but i will, it shoots and looks great.. Well good shooting to all.

How do the CD & SA compare? I know the Springfield is considered in the top 3 of production 1911's & the CD a "budget" 1911, but I was wondering how they really compare, especially from an owner of both.

Congrats on the additions by the way!

10-Ring, they both feel real good in hand but the SA seems to be put together tighter and just feels stronger. Now that i have the right springs in the Daly they both put a bullet down range and eject a casing every time. The SA is definetly the more accurate gun, i hit in the 10 ring allmost every shot at 25 with it, and thats with my own loads. If i had to choose between the two i guess it would be the SA.
