Hey, I just got back from the range. I shot my new Rock Island 1911 without a single problem all 50 rounds whent downrange and all hit Point-of-aim :what: except 5 rounds that i shot at 100 yards just for fun, they hit about a foot low , what a shooter that was , I also shot my new Glock 17 for the second time. However when I got to the glocks 17 I shot about 2 inches to the left. I didn't shoot the 17 for more then 100 rounds, and I was getting good groupings, just to the left. I compensated by aligning the front dot sight to the right of the rear sight. I did move it a considerable ammount out of alignment. With that done, I could chew the center of the target out easily. Its just that the sights were so out of alignment. Were the rear sights just out of wack? Or was it just me? I shot the hipoint, the 1911, all fine, none shot left for me. My girlfriend also seemed to shoot to the left on the 17 as well. Any opionions? Also, what is needed to adjust the rear sight on the glock 17?

That's a Glock for ya.

To shoot a Glock with accuracy, one must first overcome what is natural to most people.

 Really?

Your rear sight could be off, but ave you bench rested the pistol? I'd setup a sand bag or 2 and run 5-10 rds resting on the sand bags. If it is still shooting left, tap the rear sight to the right. Otherwise it could be your trigger control check out the following.http://bullseyepistol.com/training.htm I have no trouble shooting my Glocks accurately even after shooting my 1911's.

I shot about 2 inches to the left.

Common problem with any gun you put too much finger into the trigger. Make sure the pistol is aligned along the arm and centered in the "V" of your thumb and trigger finger. When you place the trigger finger on the trigger no part of the finger sould be touching the frame, for most poeple that means you use the middle of the first finger pad, not the joint. Pull the trigger directly to the rear with no latteral pressure.

For a right handed shooter, if the side of the trigger finger pushes against the right side of the pistol during the squeeze, the shots will be pushed left.
