So I decided to compare the two powerhouse .308 combat rifles side by side.
Ammo: Lake City 7.62 NATO
Rifle 1: Springfield M1A1 Standard Walnut stock
Scope of Rifle 1: Simmons ATV 14 x 40
Rifle 2: C.A.I Receiver + Enfield L1A1 Barrel/Lower Receiver + Tapco.
Scope of Rifle 2: Simmons 8 Point 12 x 40
Range: 100 yards
Position: sitting/bench
I fired 20 rounds for M1A1, and 50 rounds for L1A1.
Group of M1A1: roughly 6 x 4 inch
Group of L1A1: roughly 7 x 8 inch

Disclaimer: I am not a very good rifleman, and my shooting sucks... but keep in mind that M1A1 has better trigger pull than L1A1 but still it is not match trigger. I have been having a lot of problem with L1A1 Tapco stock in terms of creating a stationary head rest for my head but I could not quite achieve a consistent headrest position with the Tapco Stock (but I did try my best to keep my head in the same area of the stock), and hence it is not really fair to compare the two rifles since M1A1 has a stationary head-rest installed.
Recoil: M1A1 has more recoil. L1A1 has less recoil (gas setting at 4).
Reliability: M1A1 no misfeed. L1A1 two stove-pipe and one misfeed at gas setting of 5, and no misfeed or stove-pipe at gas setting of 4. Both equally reliable.
Weight: M1A1 is much heavier.
"Wow" factor at the range: M1A1 > L1A1
More "evil" assualt rifle characteristics: L1A1 > M1A1
