Range Time

Happy Father's Day to all those who have been fruitful and multiplied!

Spent the better part of the day at the range yesterday...from lunch (about 12:30 p.m.) until after dinner (about 6:30 p.m.). We have a very nice private, members-only range with lots of space to shoot whatever your little heart desires.

In that time period, there were only 3 other people at the range that I can remember seeing. Is it the same where y'all shoot, or is it just us. My friend and I were amazed at how few people where at the range the last few times we've been out shooting.

It would seem that what you describe is more common with private members only ranges.

At the public ranges near me you would almost be waiting in line for a bench to open up. They can get fairly busy, especially on the weekends. The weekdays aren't nearly so bad. It isn't uncommon to have to share the range with only one or two shooters during the week.

I belong to a private club too. We own a valley, so there are high hills on two sides. There are several covered shooting ranges in addition to many 25 yard by 50 yard bermed ranges that you can set up your own targets. Here is one of the covered ranges. (Yes, that's my PT Cruiser!)
