The rounds feel tight when first inserted into the 14-rd. mag. Must be a Mec-Gar brand.

Trying out this first d. s. mag, loaded with about 10 rds. in the CZ-75 PO1.

It will sound odd when I decide to jog with this gun.
My Makarovs never had this small rattle, even when the single-stack mags were not filled up.

My factory double-stack mags for my S&W M&P FS do the same thing. Seems to be a plague with most double-stacks. Sometimes you get lucky and get one that doesn't, other times you just deal with it. Gets annoying, to be sure.

My XD45 did the same thing. The rattle is caused by rounds moving around slightly in the magazine as not every round is under high pressure from the spring. It will normally feel and sound like the rounds rattling will be closer to the baseplate of the magazine, as it is the widest point with the most room to move around. Totally normal and not a cause for concern.

Mec-gar mags are probably the best pistol mags. in the world. I know Browning uses them as does Ruger (I think Ruger imports the parts, assembles them & calls them made in the USA.), but they are Mec-gar. My glock mags. rattle sometimes, but they work.

It is completely normal and inherent to staggered magazines.

It is because the rounds are offset, staggered, from the one above and below...each round isn't fully supported.

It is more prevalent with tapered cartridges

My CZ75 PCR with 14 round mags do the same thing, whether with CZ issue mags or with MecGar branded mags. For whatever reason my old Beretta 92FS 15 round mags never did rattle.

After every 5 or so rounds I load in a double stack mag, I slap the back of the mag on the heel of my hand to get all the rounds seated fully. That usually stops the rattles in my mags.

I have tried everything I can think of with my M&P, including slapping every 2 rounds. Have heard that also slapping the floor plate after the final round. Sometimes it helps, but usually only temporarily if at all, so I have learned to disregard it.

If you inject caulk or clear silicone (for better looks) into the baseplate the rattling with cease.

I have the same situation with my PPQ when 14 are in the magazine and one is in the chamber (14+1). I think when there is an even number of rounds in the magazine, there can be a time when the rounds on one side of the "stack" all align on top of each other, giving the rounds on the odd number side of the magazine a little room to move.

Really? How does that solve the problem? In my magazine, the rattle comes from rounds on one side of the stack that are not equally carrying the pressure with the other side.
When I have a mag rattle I pull one round out it usually stops.
Yep, same here. With 13+1 it never rattles.

I can even make it happen even when the magazine is not in the pistol. With 14 in the magazine and the magazine out of the pistol, there never is rattle. When I press the top round down just a bit (like it would be when inserted in the pistol), then the rattle occurs.

My S&W 6906 mags rattle, after loading I slap the back of the mag on my palm to settle things. Some times the rattle stops sometimes not, I'm used to it.
