The title say it all. I picked this Russian capture rifle up 2 years ago for $85. I figured the russians re-arsenaled this rifle after capture and just slapped any stock they had lying around on it. I really never gave it a second thought. Recently I was shooting at my local club with it and the guy on the next lane over commented on what a strange stock my 98K had. Now I'm wondering about its origin?

The action and barrel are marked S/27 1937, whick I know is a Erma manufacture date code. Please look at the attachments and tell me what I really have.

How do you know that is a russian capture. I don't see the star stamp. Those were also imported in the 80's and may not be a captured rifle. does the bolt # match the rifle? How about the serial number on the stock?

Hey I have an 1937 Erma.

What's the serial number on the receiver, mine is 368 K. Maybe they were close by at one time.

That is certainly not a standard K98 stock.

I assume its a russian capture since it is missing the front sight hood and cleaning rod...plus the nice red schellac on it!

mine is 7990

ALL numbers match...even the stock is marked 7990. the ONLY thing that is "force matched" with electro pencil is the magazine floor plate!
