I broke the toggle block. Got a new one from RCBS and I am attempting to install the new block. This version has nuts not c clips. The nuts came off but the the toggle block pin won't budge. I lubricated and let it sit over night but I still can't get it out. It spins freely but won't move. Before I resort to a BFH and break something I thought I would inquire here for some help.

What am I doing wrong ?

Check too see if there is not any set screw on the sides. Minor production changes were made over the years. If not support it good and use a big hammer. Put the nut back on to protect the threads and give you a bigger spot to hit. If it moves remove the nut and finish driving it out. May add some heat (propane torch) to the block to make it expand.

. It spins freely but won't move.
Then I suspect a step, worn into it by one of the cast parts, is hooked. Turn it while pulling (or pushing) and it might walk out.

Don't hammer on it until you understand what's wrong!

Also, HOW ON EARTH did you break the toggle block?

Not loading. I just finished remodeling the basement, when I reassembled the bench one of the ears that holds the ram was cracked.

Give RCBS a call and tell them the problem you are having and which RCBS press you have and they can give you the advice you seek, Good luck and don't forget the nut if you use a hammer to protect the threads.

Great advice.

Bought a used RCIV recently at a gun store and first thing I did was a complete disassembly for a deep clean and lube.

That pin has shoulders on each end. It won't come out without first removing the arms. The arms are held on with press fit pins at the top. One pin has a hole in it. I used a long piece of rod the correct diameter to drive out the pin from the opposite side. With the non-hole pin off you can now drive out the other side. This will let the arms come off and the pin will slide out.

If you already did this, disregard.

I can't drive the pins out with the ram in place.
