Is the Browning Grande Puissance's firing pin shorter than its channel, or will it hit the primer when the hammer is lowered slo-o-o-w-ly?

Like the 1911, the BHP's firing pin is an inertia type, shorter than its channel in the slide, and will not reach the primer until struck a blow by the hammer. It will not touch the primer when the hammer is lowered manually.
