I feel the same way, a manual safety P-01 would be perfect. The decocker is the only thing I don't like about my P01. If it had a safety it would be perfect. Nice Compact!
The trigger pin was in the mag brake top hole, keeping the grips from going flush in the back, cant believe the previous owner didn't complain after picking it up.Nice find and good to hear that it's back in working order.
As much as I love my CZs, these Caniks are giving CZ a run for their money. Whoever is doing the machining and fitting in the CZ factory needs to take some pointers from the Canik guys.
It's real hard spending twice for the CZ when it can be done for the same if not better for half the price. If the CZ clones get the right aftermarket support, CZ better watch their bums.
very nice gun! sure you will enjoy it! I have the one w/the decocker an love it! Why is it that the decocker model is less liked, price, trigger pull, just an extra thing to mess up?
I had a P01, but didn't care for the rail, bulky nose and heavier slide. This pistol is perfect! Or will be when the VZ grips are purchasedI've shot the alloy-framed decockers and have had a couple of steel-frame Compacts. I don't like decockers, if I have an alternative, and found the Compact a bit heavier than seemed justified. An alloy-framed COMPACT with safety seems like the best of both worlds. I've only seen one OTHER one until recently. They have been available with the Omega trigger on the CZ Custom Shop.
Maybe, when the time is right, I'll get an alloy-framed Compact...
