My girlfriend and I are looking into some decent hearing protection, right now we use only plugs. I have no clue where to start, what to look for, what I should be paying, etc. I shoot quite a bit so maybe investing in a pair or two of the electronic kind would be worth the extra $$$? I don't even know how much they cost, honestly. I've tried searching but can't find anything. Anyone wanna give me a rundown on hearing protection please?

Thanks!

I have a topic going regarding inexpensive electronic hearing protection if you're interested. The short answer is either the Radians Pro-Amps or Peltor 7-S. The Pro-Amps come in cheaper generally.

I had been doubling up with a reusable plug set and a $12 Peltor muff. Now I got a set of reusable Radian plugs from Midway, and the plugs are way quieter than either the muffs or old plugs alone. With just the new plugs, things almost sounded too quiet out in the field, could barely hear people talk. I got worried about not hearing someone call a cease fire... :uhoh:

They feel to be made out of an "adult" form of rubber so it is really comfy after you get used to the fact where the remaining ear plug rubber will end up. ;)
