Hello folks,

I looking to purchase a red dot for my Ruger super redhawk 44 mag. Ive been checking around, prices, sizes and quality of the dots. Im reading lots of mixed feelings about some of them. One thing i want to consider before purchasing it is I want it in silver to match the gun. Ive loooked at bsa 30mm dot, mill dot, propoint red dot. Anyone with some information on red tos please help me choose a decent red dot that is not going to crack the lens after shooting.
Iam willing to spend at least $100.oo or maybe $125..
I checked midwayusa.com, they had quite a variety of them

thank you
joe

I have a Pro-Point II which has done duty both on my 12 gauge slug gun, and extensivly on my Taurus 44 magnum. Durable as hell. My only beef with it is the rather large, non-adjustable dot. Great for close range hunting and plinking, a little large for shooting much past 50 yards.

I also have a Bushnell Trophy. Also has done duty on my .44 and my .357. This one has variable sizes and shapes of dots, as well as a green / red setting for daylight or low light. This scope is also well built.

Both ran around 110-120 bucks and I'd recommend either one of them.

I've seen a BSA fly to pieces on my buddy's .44. But putting a 30 dollar scope on a .44 magnum pistol probably wasn't the wisest move!

Here's a pic of the Taurus / ProPoint
