Does anyone see a problem with reforming .243 rifle brass into 6.5 Creedmoor?
I have tried a few & they shoot fine, I have been told it's not the parent case (.30TC) it was made from.
But they all came from the .308 originally didn't they?

.243 on the left 6.5 CM on right

Lube & resize You can see the neck on the old 243 is longer & needs trimming

A little trimming & cleaning it's ready to go.

Right now .243 is easer to find than the 6.5 CM.

I don't see a problem with it. For me. it' always easier sizing down. But blowing the case larger works too but you may have thin necks.

I always anneal before any sizing. Makes it easier and less likely to split a case.

Yes the parent cartridge was from the 308W.

Pretty much every modern .470"/.472" head diameter rimless rifle cartridge is based on the old German Patrone 88 (forerunner of the "8mm Mauser") and can be formed from it unless they're too long, like the 30-06.

This isn't a simple necking up like 6mm Remington to .257 Roberts.

The neck is now partially formed from the shoulder of the .243 case.

I'd worry more about the neck being too thick and requiring reaming or turning.

A too thin neck may cause bullet retention or accuracy issues, but too thick can cause dangerous pressures.

Beats paying a $ or 2 per shell.
The way I do it is take the larger brass trim it down some, get it with in a about 1 or 2mm of where finished length, anneal, ram it through the sizer die, trim to finished length.
Been doing it forever with 30-06 to 8mm mauser back "before the internet".

I'm joining the Creedmoor cult and I might buy a neck uniformity tool. I can go back and use it on my 30-06 head stamped 8mm brass.

The Creedmoor parent case was a 30tc
