Release lever on Kahr CW45 question

Has anyone had a problem releasing the slide with the lever on the Kahr CW45? It is really hard to press for me and my wife finds it impossible. Any ideas?

It shouldn't be as hard to release with a loaded magazine in it. My cw9 is the same way it should explain why in the owners manual.

Thats it! I put some snap caps in and it is much easier. I purchased this gun from a gun shop used. No manual. I am in the process of downloading one online. Thanks.

I plan to shoot it tomorrow. Actually this will be my wife's carry. She is also looking for a S&W M&P 45. Go figure.

I've never had a problem with releasing the slide with the lever on either of my Kahrs, when used as they are supposed to be, i.e, reloading with a loaded magazine, or with the magazine removed.
