Any handloaders out there have any experience with reloading the Win pre'64 model 70 .300 H&H mag by using any bullets between 230 gr and up to 250 gr?
If you have let me know what the wt was, what brass you used, primers, and powder with the results you obtained.:)

The Pre-64 Model 70 .300 H&H had a 1/10 rifling twist.

A 220 Round-Nose bullet is on the upper limit of acceptable bullet weights for one.

I doubt it will stabilize a 230- 250 at longer range.
Or maybe even closer range.

It has been years since I sold my pre-64 M70 Super Grade. I used to load 150 to 220 gr bullets and used the data in the old DuPont reloader guides which were published almost every year. If I remember correctly one did not obtain much more velocity than one can now obtain with modern powders in the 30-06.
