Before I get too excited about a CZ, I was doing a little reading on the CZ forums. In their reloading subforum, they caution on using lead boolits. Apparantly the CZ's faster spin shears some lead boolits.

So...since I'm still waiting over there for my registration I'll start by asking here...

Anyone reload for their 9mm CZ with lead boolits? I've got almost 500 Speer 125 LRN and 500 Missouri Bullet 125LRN in my garage. My MP likes them and I like shooting them (less $$).

Thoughts/opinions, please...

all I shoot in my cz-85 is lead.

124gr.LRN. had to shorten the OAL.

seems the chamber is shorter than some of my

other 9mm.

I roll my lead bullets in Lee Alox, stand them up to dry overnite, never have a problem with leading, bores are nice and shiney after 100 rounds, this includes my 357 Blackhawk.

Most 9mm have a 1 in10 twist they shoot jacketed very well but not always shoot lead well. A barrel with a 1 in 16 twist will shot both very well. Think for a minute, the 38 super is a hot loaded 9mm and uses a 1 in 16 twist and will shoot circles around a 9x19. I have a Bar Sto after market barrel in my M92 and it shoots lead better than the factory barrel.

I own a CZ-75B that was purchased in February of this year and has since been worked over hard.

Two favorite loads are the following:

122gr. Cast Lead Truncated Cone, BHN 21 (fairly hard)

4.2 grains of W-231, WSP primers, avg. velocity 1100fps - COAL of 1.052"
6.1 grains of HS-6, same OAL and primers, at about 1140-50 in my CZ.

My pistol also has a passion for Rainiers, particularly the hollow points for some reason. I've had absolutely no "abnormal" leading issues in my CZ with the cast bullets but I've not tried anything softer than a 21 hardness or so.
