Reloading component availability

The CCI primers I use are pretty much 10 cents apiece after everything. I do not think that we will ever see any primers under 8 cents again. Especially now that there is now a new war starting in Israel. The one-hundred-dollar increase for 8 pounds of powder really sticks me.
Primers at my local Sportsman’s Warehouse are currently on the shelf for $59.99 for 1000 CCI 500 small pistol primers. In the past 4 months, I have purchased over 5000 Fiocchi small pistol primers for $8.29 for a sleeve of 150, which equals $5.50 per 100. Sorry if you don’t have a Sportsman’s Warehouse in your neighborhood, it has been my go to for primers for the past 3 years. Scheels in Montana also has had decent amounts of primers at decent prices in the past two years as well.

They really are a good resource for primers...holding the line on prices that I believe are the new "norm". There is one 15 mins from my house, across from my doctor's office, so there isn't much excuse for not stopping by to check.

I remember when they started getting supplies that they limited purchases to two sleeve (200). Then they raised the limit to 1k and recently dropped any limit at all. Up until then, it was just easier to order 10k delivered for $5 more per thousand

My "local" Sportsmans is in Morgantown, WV, about a three hour drive there depending on traffic, so not worth the trip for me. However, when I take my GF up there in January for her next doctor appointment, the Sportsmans will only be a half mile off our path, so I will certainly be stopping in.

Last time I was there (this summer) they still had a single brick limit. When did they lift that?

118 miles for me (Lady Lake) and they have only had small pistol primers when they have had any. Oh well. Them’s the breaks.

The one in Greensboro, NC didn't lift their limit. We are still at 1brick per purchase, and I hope they keep it that way. That will keep the gun show venders on equal ground with us reloaders.
The last thing I want to see is the only decent primers supply we have in this area, all end up at a gun show at 100% mark up.
I was there just last Thursday and so far nothing has changed at our store.

Where are you find them at $65.00/k where you can order 10k at a time?

In the past 4 months, I have purchased over 5000 Fiocchi small pistol primers for $8.29 for a sleeve of 150, which equals $5.50 per 100.

I've been buying a brick a week from them for the last 5 weeks and I'll continue as long as I can get them or until I find a better source. So far I have got Fiocchi's, Federals, CCI's, and Remington's from them.
Remington are the cheapest, at $44.10 a brick, and all the rest are around or at 59.99 a brick. I like the store so I don't mind going over once a week.
I always find something else to buy that I really don't need.

Intense...yes. But I spent a great deal of time and effort sourcing components and now I can order them online with little or no fuss. I'm not going to spend my time running to three stores on Sunday to find 1 sleeve of primers...I'm going to order the brick online (especially since gas it 3.44/gal...I can justify the Hazmat). I am cherry picking now....05 cents per primer is not far away.
Gas $3.44 a gallon? You lucky dog, I wish gas here was that cheap!!

It’s at least $6.00 a gallon here! 😩

I do agree with your logic, I also won’t spend hours driving all over to save a few bucks if I can source it another way.

Stay safe.

American Reloading. When I checked the other day, they were down to $310/5k ($62/k) and the last time I ordered, there was an additional discount at 10k...(I want to say $10, but don't quote me)...that price included shipping and HazMat

Got my fill of No41 primers at Lubbock Cabela's after that nearly 3 year primer dry spell, me and my buddy didn't even put a dent in what they had for No41s.
Went back after pay day and did it again and got more this time. Still didn't even put a dent in what they had and there's more there compared to last week, they got in a bunch of Remingtons. Looks like me and my friend were the only ones that bought anything since last week.

I think only us diehards are still shooting and buying . Any thing shooting related. The ranges i go to have been slow. When i bought my SKS. I asked my LGS how he's doing with sales. He said it's been slow. He had bins of stuff on the side walk marked down 50%. His used guns were 12% off too.

I believe a couple of posters here mentioned buying/ stocking up a bit brfore the covid stuff. I did the same somewhat and to get ahead of the Ca craziness.
So, a good amount of shooters/handloaders already have what they need. Probably no real rush to search for more. If I was to stumble upon a really good deal, maybe. Just not in the need. That's my take anyways.

American reloading has CCI 500’s for $334.99/5k total price shipped. Get ‘‘em while you can

I started stocking up Pre-Clinton, best to buy when the market is down, but can’t always be helped.

We don’t need to panic and make it worse.
I've been buying the 400 allowed every chance I get at sportsman's. I got the last SPMs they had today. They still have spp so I'll shift to those till they are gone. I don't have a monster pile, but I'm better off than I would have been.

I didn't realize some Sportsman's Warehouses (SW) were still enforcing limits.

I stopped in my local yesterday on the way to a doctors appointment to ask what they had. They had Federal Gold Match SPP for $90/k and also noted that they had quite a bit of Fiocchi SPP available and put a brick of 1500 on the counter. Said they were $90 for the brick or $450 for 7500. I passed as I'm sitting on about 25k Ginex and 10k Federal
When large rifle and large rifle magnum become commonly available again, they hen we will know times are too good to be true.
They had LRP at my local SW yesterday. I didn't ask how many or the cost as I don't use them...I was looking for LPP for a buddy

It won't take long to start coming down so long as the stuff sits on shelves for a while. Unfortunately, the bigger companies are going to survive just fine or sell out to other companies while the smaller companies are going to take losses and many will go out of business. It happens every time things slow down. That said, with all the major issues we see right now with Hornady exploding, Lake City shutting off commercial stuff, and Vista Outdoors selling, and Israel, and Ukraine, and the election, things aren't looking to end right away.

Has anyone seen 2400 available? I have enough magnum revolver powder for my needs, but nothing that has quite the same fireball as 2400. I haven't seen any for sale in years. I was guessing that Alliant found it more convenient/profitable to make only MP-300 for some reason. Or does 2400 come from a factory that shut down, burned down, whatever?

Never fails to break the ice at parties indoor ranges.

Searching high and low for deals I stumbled onto a pawn shop deal for 108 6mm eldm for 22 dollars. I even asked if they were properly marked. They had 4 boxes, I now have 4 boxes. Seems like the powers that be wanted me to work on the 6br sometime soon. Supplies are a grind, and you have to search and be ready to jump.

It's out there, maybe not in your area. My LGS had some recently, and I thought I saw some at Cabela's in Charleston, WV, yesterday. I never asked the price at either place. At Cabela's, some powder was in the $35 range, and some was in the $50ish range.

For primers, my LGS has small pistol and rifle, no large primers at all. Cabela's had everything but large rifle, their prices were in line with everything I see local.

Supplies are (or were) coming back. Not sure how long they'll last given the latest war overseas, but I'm done buying for awhile unless I see a very good deal.
