After being laid off for 2+ years, I applied for a "maintenance" job at wally world. That store has a so-called sporting goods department. It consists of 5 short aisles, and an island with a few guns and a FEW boxes of ammo. During the interview process, I asked about the sporting department. The reply was with all the gun specific stores in town, they had the bare minimum in shooting, hunting, and fishing supplies. It's the same in the whole fox valley area.
So if you have a wally mart that has a good gun dept., I'd bet there's little or no competition around.
No, I didn't get the job, overqualified. The best job I never got!
