Reloading supplies @ WallyWorld

No reloading stuff here. Matter of fact since they expanded to a "Super Store" they`ve reduced their stock of ammo and stopped offering rifles, or so it seems.

The Walmart in southwest Galax, Va carries a fair selection of loading supplies, bullets, powders and primers. Average prices and such, but I prefer to buy my powders and primers from my local gunshop. Support your local gunshop as they are a disappearing breed.

The one by me sells reloading supplies but the prices aren't that good and the selection sucks even more. The only reloading kit they offer is the RCBS RC kit. They still sell rifles and shotguns.

Our wally world doesn't have squat. They still sell ammo, but that's about it. I went in the other day to get some of the WWB in 45 an 9mm. Freakin kid behind the counter acted like I was a criminal for buying handgun ammo. Little scumbag. :cuss: Gander Mountain and the small LGS cost a few bucks more, but at least you don't have some snot nosed kid giving you the hairy eyeball because you're buying ammo. :scrutiny:

My local WM sold a small line of reloading tools and components years ago but dropped it due to the low volume of sales response. Couldn't blame them, they tried.

Retail stores have to hire from the applicants they have. Any reloader looking for a job in a store with reloading stuff could likley get hired pretty quickly, I don't think they are opposed to qualified help.

I have never seen reloading supplies at any chinamart. I try to avoid them as much as possible. I was close to one today and decided to stop in and get my hunting permit. After waiting for 10 min while the guy stared at the computer doing something for the guy ahead of me I walked out. That place is just about useless unless you like buying cheap crap that will need to be replaced in a year.

I guess I'm lucky, my Walmart still has guns, ammo and reloading supplies.

The only stupid question any of the staff asks if for my money after they ring up the sell and get mad at the register for asking my age. :D

Maybe Wal Mart is testing the market to see how they sell. Might be a good idea to buy some reloading components. Maybe they will continue to stock or increase what they stock

The one in New Martiansvill W.Va. has an ever shrinking supply, the one in St. Claersville Ohio has none and I really don't know about the one in Marretta Ohio.

In the early 80's I was at the absolutely new Wal Mart on Mainstreet in Texarkana Texas. It was open on the Arkansas side, on Sunday. All the stores on the Texas side were closed, due to the "Blue Laws" When that store opened up, it had such an impact, Texas had to change their Blue Laws.

Anyway that store carried Reloading Supplies. And the prices were good. I asked the floor manager, was told that WalMart allowed managers some flexibility in stock, and they had a reloader on their staff.

Who knows if they still allow such things a quarter century later.

Wish I had bought stock in Walmart back then. I had next to nothing, but the stock rose so much, I would be stinking rich now. :banghead:

After being laid off for 2+ years, I applied for a "maintenance" job at wally world. That store has a so-called sporting goods department. It consists of 5 short aisles, and an island with a few guns and a FEW boxes of ammo. During the interview process, I asked about the sporting department. The reply was with all the gun specific stores in town, they had the bare minimum in shooting, hunting, and fishing supplies. It's the same in the whole fox valley area.

So if you have a wally mart that has a good gun dept., I'd bet there's little or no competition around.

No, I didn't get the job, overqualified. The best job I never got!
