I heard last night a local WalMart is carrying reloading supplies. Has anyone ever seen this before? The prices were not that great, but they had primers, powder and even a loading press!

Our WalMart here in Graham, Texas, has been carrying them since they expanded in to the Super Center format about two years ago. Prices are average and they have a good supply of powder on hand and a nice selection of new brass and bullets.

The Wally's in the small town of St.Helens Oregon has powder, primers, brass, some bullets and some presses and scales and such.
at leat they did last year when I was there.Still had long guns too.

Prices are average, supply is good. The problem is the talking head behind the counter. I went in and ask for a shell holder to fit a 9mm. He directed me to the Plastic boxes that hold loaded rounds.

No I said a shell holder, you know goes in the press and holds the shell.

Blank look.

Its for reloading I said.

deer in the head light look.

There hanging on the peg board right behind you I said.

He starts looking, I say you have to look up 9mm in the book hanging there and it will give you a number of the holder.

He starts leafing thorough it......

Never mind I said I go to a sporting goods store, which I did. Looked it up in the book my wife found it and went a paid for it.

Moral of the story better know exactly what you need.

Nope, No reloading supplies around here but they do have a lot of muzzle loading equipment.

And I live right in the heart of Walmart land. LOL.

If they had them around here I didn't see them, of course I'm not looking either. About the only reason I go to Waly's is for bird cage litter, I get about 20lb each time. (I have a really bigggg bird :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

+1 Muzzle loading stuff in Concord, NH. They just added it about a month ago. I meant to ask if it was seasonal or here to stay.

No smokeless powder or reloading supplies. :(

Local Super Center has reloading supplies and fudd guns :neener:

I buy a few things, dies and bullet prices are ok, powder's high. I get corncob there sometimes and reload manuals some brass (.223)

Must be nice. But here in California, even ammo is spotty. I live in a "dry" county but the next county over carries ammo. I don't think they would even think of reloading supplies.

I wish!!! Like some of the others have said, the 3 Walmart stores near me carry only Muzzle loader supplies. That good though since if I decide to buy a BP substitute to load up some smoky .45 Colts loads I can at least buy the powder cheap...

Thirty miles to the other side of the boarder Wally.
Kaliforina side doesn't carry much of anything fire
arms related. Must be something in their water?:cuss:

All the local WMs carried reloading stuff until recently, now they're moving it to more rural stores. They just opened a new store a few months ago, no guns or reloading supplies at all.

huh........just searched walmart.com nothing for reloading supplies, just looked to see if they could special order some stuff into my local store and beat my local supplier who is ok but still a touch high.

I have 2 Wal-marts close to me and both carry reloading supplies. The one has more than the other. I have to agree with Mt Shooter, the super store has a woman with no knowledge of reloading behind the counter and deer in the headlights is her normal look, just ask a question.

The W-M in Fayetteville, TN carries reloading supplies. They have a fairly wide variety of items. I asked the Department Manager about the possibility of getting different powders and he said that he isn't able to get anything different from what he currently stocks. He said that if he chooses to carry reloading supplies it is basically a top loaded inventory and he is not able to add items to the list. None of the other stores in the immediate area carry anything.

I haven't seen it around here since the 1968 GCA put the skids to everything.

Used to be able to buy reloading supplies & equipment at K-Mart & Walmart before that.

No supplies in the Austin, TX area...which suits me fine.

What does irritate me is that our Super Center "cards" everyone who buys ammo.
Don't matter if your 17 or 70, you have to show ID. Typical Walmart mentality to require a fifty year old man to prove he's old enough to buy .22LR.

not here

The wallyworld here in Mineral Wells Texas did sell long guns until last year now the sell nothing.I have to drive 30-50 miles to find anything to reload with.I have to drive to Cabelas in Ft Worth just to buy real black powder for my muzzle loaders.

Living in the northest, I was real surprised that Wal-mart carried supplies especially in Old Saybrook.:what: That area is pretty suburban and typically not gun friendly. I guess the manager found out that another local gun shop was getting out of the reloading business and decided to capitalize on it.

Nothing here either. I hit both WW's this afternoon getting more "bird litter". When I went back to the sporting goods I asked the same question. (Two employees, different stores)
Me: Do you sell reloading supplies?
Him: Huh???
Next store
Me: Do you sell reloading supplies?
Him: I don't know but let me call the mgr.
Mgr: Huh?

That's ok though, I got 5 bags of the litter for my bird. And brought home 5 10ga buckets of cases. I'm getting "brass poor". Probably have to start selling some of it to keep the wife off my arse :D
