Reloading the 500 and 460 S&W

I would to get your favorite reloads for both these cartridges. I am currently using AA #9 in the 500 and IMR 4227 in the 460. I am loading both Hornady 350 grain and 500 grain bullets in the 500. I am loading 300 grain xtp mags in the 460. I just picked up some Rainier plated bullets rated for 2000 fps for 500. I think they are 350 grainers. Any and all loads are appreciated. I would really like to know about other bullet chices like the Sierra bullets for the 460 etc.

I loaded the SW 460 using Hornady, Speer and Hodgdon data. I would not bother with plated bullets in either caliber,

It is all a matter of if you want hot or hotter loads. They are are brutal to me,

Hornady makes the bullet so I recommend their data,

I stick with the Hornady XTP-MAG 240gr and 300gr in my XVR. I prefer the 240gr over a whole lot of H110.

For my .500, I normally get the 350gr XTP, also tried the 500 gr SP. My powder is normally H110 for my .44 and .500 loads - works well for me and I got a few pounds sitting here

I just got a set of 440 gr molds and casted about 100 bullets, put a gas check on and lubed them. Have loaded those up with 34.5 gr of H110 as well, but have not had a chance to shoot them yet...

I get my load data from the books or the manufacturer's website. Hodgdon does a decent job with their publications.

What is the question? There are several other powders that can be used.

I stick with H110 for the 460 mag and Hornady 350 gr bullets.

I use to use 350 gr Hornady XTP with 37 gr of Lil Gun when I had a 500

I really wouldn't waste my money on jacketed bullets in the .500.
