I was at Scheel's today and they had a Remington 700 in .308 that they were advertising as "made to M24 specs." It had a 24" non-fluted heavy barrel that had a matte grey finish and a kevlar stock. I got home and looked on the Remington website and did not see it in the standard or law enforcement catalog. It was similar to the M24 models that appear in the military catalog (minus the scope, case, and other accessories), but those are all chambered in 7.62. It was NOT the Sendero or Target Tactical.

Has anyone else seen this?

What did you pay for it? The M24 goes for over $4000. What you paid should indicate how "M24 Spec" it is.

I didn't buy it- I wouldn't do that without doing some research and figuring out what exactly it was and what about it was "made to M24 specs," but they wanted about $1050-1100 for it (without the scope, case, bipod, cleaning kit, tools, sling, etc, that the M24 comes with). I was mildly interested in the store, but when I looked on the Remington website and they didn't have it I got even more curious. I was wondering if anyone else had seen the same thing.

I found some pictures of the 5R on the internet- that's what is was. Why doesn't Remington list this in their special run catalog?
