Has Remington ever offered the Sendero series of rifles without a fluted barrel? Came across a pawn shop find today that I can’t pass up. It’s a 7mm Rem Mag Model 700 with a heavy, non-fluted barrel and HS Precision stock. I wasn’t really interested in it at the time or I would have gotten some pictures. Got home and realized that I have a threaded 300 WM barrel sitting in the ammo closet that I could spin on that rifle. I think it was marked around $600, so I text my buddy that runs the shop and he tells me I can have it for $325! Done! Put it behind the counter and I’ll pick it up tomorrow.
It’s got a rattle can paint job on it that I’m going to cover up eventually, but for $325, I can’t beat that. The stock is worth that much. I don’t guess it really matters, but I’ve been wondering if that rifle is a Sendero or what? I’m not aware of Remington offering anything with an HS Precision stock from the factory other than the Senderos, the Police models and the 5R Mil-Specs. Am I missing something?
