igpoobah gives some sage advice. Keep in mind the rules for the Activism forum are centered on:
1) Progress towards some identifiable goal (in this case giving NRA memberships as Christmas gifts)
2) Emphasis on doing something rather than debating why the suggested course of action should not be done, will never work, isn't effective, etc. - a little constructive criticism is fine (example: "I personally am disappointed with the NRA, so I would give gift memberships to SAF instead."); but sitting around and tearing down somebody else's idea for positive action is a lot easier than actually getting out and doing something yourself. One reason Activism was created is because we were concerned that people were mistaking tearing down other people's ideas for actual activism.
There are lots of good RKBA groups out there. How about instead of tearing them down, we just take the spirit of the idea offered and use it to advance all of them?
