Remington 700 Date

Could anyone tell me when Remington quit using four screws on the buttplate of the model 700 rifles? Also I have a 700 with a BD on the barrel, could anyone tell me the year it was made?

Using the proof marks on the barrel, you can date your piece.

The letter D shows up about 4 times for different years, but I would guess it is 1983. I have a 700 that was made in 1974 that has 4 screws holding the buttplate on the rifle.
