Polished Blue - Just picked up a polished blue 870P Model # 24899.
Nothing better than a worn polished blue finish firearm!

.Parked. Good, tough matte finish that doesn't reflect light is what I like on guns meant for fighting
I prefer parkerized for an 870P. My 870P is parkerized, which makes it plain and simple looking. The metal and wood are flat. When I pick up my 870P, I want a look and feel of a plain old gun that's ready for rugged use.
My 870 Wingmaster is the prettier shotgun. The metal and wood are shiny. When I pick up my Wingmaster, it feels like I'm holding something special, like I have to care for it more. I know the Wingmaster is just as rugged, but it's just a feeling. I like having the difference between the guns.
dasanii19 said:I feel the complete opposite. I feel like the parkerized finish gets scratched way to easy compared to the polished 870p thus having the feeling of "special care". I feel like the polished blue is way more simple then the parkerized finish, maybe that's why its cheaper?
I know the parkerized 870P gets scratched easier. After awhile, there are so many scratches, that I don't even care anymore. It looks used and ready to be used. That's what I want from my 870P! That's my point. In contrast, I would like to keep my Wingmaster nice, regardless if it's harder to scratch up.
I'm not sure how your guns feel to operate. My Wingmaster's action is smooth like butter, while my 870P's action is grittier. The Wingmaster definitely feels special, like putting on my favorite suit. In contrast, I feel like I'm supposed to ride my 870P harder without a care. Again, I know it's just a feeling.
By the way, it looks like you haven't even been shooting your guns. Let's talk after you get some mileage in both guns and after the newness has worn off.
