I recently picked up a mint Remington ADL in .270. I am mounting a Burris Fullfield scope on it.

My question is, how do I take that front iron sight off? It has one screw I can see, and I took that out, but it is still on there tight. My guess is that there is another screw under the front part of the sight, and I need to punch out the sight to get to the screw? Any ideas?

And, yes, I thought about leaving the iron sights on, but it will look much better without them IMHO and I don't need or want them on the gun. I will keep them in my safe though in case I change my mind.

I believe your right, just drift that front sight far enough to remove the screw, fill the screw holes with the small screws made for that if you have them, leaves a nice smooth barrel.

Awesome, thanks guys. That was my next question, where to get plug screws (My BDL has them, and I always wondered where I'd get them for this new ADL I'm working on). Thanks!

Fortunately, the screws that hold on the sights and scope mount are all threaded 6-48. If you have them the plug screws on the receiver will work on screw holes for the sights.

A local gunsmith will probably sell them to you for about a $1.50 apiece, much easier than buying a twelve pack or paying $3 a screw online.

PCF, thanks for the tip. I do still have the plug screws I took out of the receiver. I had a feeling they might work, but hadn't tried them yet. That's a lot better than buying a dozen or so for $20 when I only need 4!
Thanks for all the help guys.
