Reno advantages over Las Vegas?

Reno is soon to get a kick in the butt.

BOTH Hwy 50 and 80 are gonna have HUGE elaborate INDIAN casinos to draw off the California tourists.

As much as I ....DESPISE..... separate preferential laws for Indian tribes, they are still going to draw a huge amount of money that used to go to Reno.

By the way, when you go on an Indian reservation to gamble, all laws of the United States are VOID. Several court battles are now in limbo as the tribal courts will not hear them.

If you get in a car wreck or work at one of the Indian casinos, no laws protect you from harassment, unfair labor practices or discrimination. The TRIBE makes the laws. Also applies to Habeas Corpus and ALL protections of due process.

Make your choice.

Reno looks to be in for a decline in the local economy.

Hm.. obviously not ALL laws are void. I worked with someone that use to be on an Indian reservation, and he started a bank, and the bank was declared "null and illegal" by the united states.. so trust me when I say, in some cases, when the US wants to, they will bulldoze Indian sovereignty (again) at their whim..

What am I looking at as far as weather and housing prices for Reno?

Buy in Reno NOW. City is growing fast and housing is currently and has been going up up and up. Get in soon and make some money.

In the spring/summer weather is similar to the Valley (Sac.) but always about 10 degrees cooler or so. Winter is drab and it does snow occasionally, not really much if you're on the floor of the basin, and it can get chilly. Again, think CA (Northern) weather but 10-20 degrees cooler. I don't like the winter cause everything is the same color....grey. A bit of getting used to compared to green Northern CA. Anyways...remember it is mountain weather, you're at 5,000 ft. on the basin floor.

Oh btw....

I haven't heard anything about these new Indian Casinos... where the heck are they gonna put one on 50???

But I wouldn't think they would really have that great an effect on Reno/Tahoe. I mean, there's already Indian Casinos all over the place from the North Valley to Sac to the Bay to where ever... If people really want the real deal they're still gonna go to Reno. Just my opinion.

I have always enjoyed Reno more. I found more to occupy myself with in the general area than just casinos.
