I have a Midway 1292 tumbler that I bought new years ago. However the center threaded rod has stripped out over time. Is this easily replaceable or is it time to get a new tumbler?

I have a harbor freight version, and if the midway is even similar, just get a threaded rod from the hardware store and replace it.

The threaded rod on my old 1292 became loose in the plastic platform with no apparent way to tighten it. The motor bearings also became worn and the noise level increased considerably. It still ran, but I replaced it with a similar Frankford Arsenal unit.

It is smooth at the bottom and does not look like all thread. Perhaps it is just worn smooth. That was my first thought as well until I was how smooth it was at the base.
