Replacing Sabatier scales..?

A friend has asked me to to fix the scales on their late mom's kitchen knife. The originals are pretty "funky" ,from moisture I assume. Is there anywhere I can get some original replacements? I can make a set but don't have any wood like the original and was thinking she might like it if it looked more like when her mom had it.

I did find the website that is in english and it seemed that there might be some warranty work.
It's an old knife but my friend is Very sentimental... I'll just make some scales for it I guess.

Are the scales "rotten" or would a quick buff and a good tung oil soak refurbish them?

Not quite rotten but they have shrunk a bit as well and splintered a bit. I'll give the oil soak a try. Thanks.
