Reply from PA state senator

Just got a letter in the mail from Senator LaValle, 47th district in reply to mail I sent him regarding the proposed assault weapons ban in Pa.

The body of the letter follows:

In the Senate, legislation pertaining to this issue is generally referred to the Senate Judiciary committee. I have contacted the committee and was recently informed that as of this writing, it is highly unlikelythat the Judiciary committee will be considering any such gun controllegislation. Please be assured that during my tenure in the Pa State Senate, I have consistently opposed measures that would strip or dilute the right of our citizens to keep and bear arms as provoded by the Second Amendment to the United State Constitution. In this interin, my staff and I will continue to monitor developmants with regard to legislation of this nature in both houses of the General Assembly and please be assured of my continued support for the Second Amendment.

There was an introductory paragraph and a closing paragraph that were not really pertinent to the issue. Any punctuation or spelling mistakes are mine as I retyped his letter as I am not quite up to scanning and pasting documents(have to have one of the kids over to help me :D ).

Pretty amazing Senator LaValle is a Democrat. I wish they all were more like him. Though I suspect he is more conservative in nature, but around here, if you are not a Democrat, you ain't gonna get elected! Historically, lot's of 2nd and 3rd gen imagrant and highly unionized.
