Resizing 7.62 x 51 brass

^^^^I tried two RCBS Small Base dies to try to get them to size the case web of some cases that wouldn't chamber in a tight chambered SSG 69. The Redding Small Base Body die was the only one that did it.

I would not try a RCBS small base die. Been there, done that.

My .02¢ from experience.
 
You haven't said what firearm you'll be running these through or what your goal is...
OP stated in post 8 that he's buying the brass to rework and resell. That's why he wants it to "gauge" properly versus having it fit a particular rifle.

My experience with once fired US 7.62 NATO brass has been mixed, but overall unsatisfactory.

Best case, MG fired brass is hard to resize, worst case was tossing a thousand RA 70 cases because they all had incipient case head separation.

Lesson learned there was don't wait three years to start processing once fired brass that you've purchased. :uhoh:
