I had previously posted a problem with my Les Baer 1911. It ate EVERYTHING in 230 grain and most things in 200 SWC. The only thing it would not always feed (about 1-3 failures per box) was 200 SWC's loaded with W231. I was using up to 5.5 gr of the W231. Something about the burn rate and the cycling speed just didn't 'jive' even though that is a sort of 'medium' load. Other powders used to produce loads in the same range worked perfectly.
Some astute readers suggested I try more powder. Today I shot 50 rounds of the same ole 200 gr SWC's loaded with 6.0 gr of W231. She went back to working absolutely perfectly again!
I KNEW I could trust the experience here to set me straight. THANKS guys, to all of you who replied earlier.
(Btw, I absolutely LOVE to be able to get trigger time on that Les Baer. Try one if you get a chance at all.)
