Riding With Kennedy Worse than Hunting With Cheney, Group Says

(CNSNews.com) - A gun rights group on Tuesday ridiculed Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.) for admitting he was under the influence of at least two prescription drugs when he crashed his car on Capitol Hill.

"I'd rather go quail hunting with Dick Cheney than get in a car being driven by a Kennedy," said Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) founder Alan M. Gottlieb. "As it stands right now, I think Congress should consider mandating drug testing of its members before they vote on legislation that would take away any of our civil rights.

"Driving under the influence of something seems to run in the family," Gottlieb aid in a press release. "From Chappaquiddick to the Capitol, nobody is safe with a Kennedy behind the wheel."

Gottlieb said that under federal law, 18 USG 922(G)(3), now that Kennedy has admitted he has a drug problem, it is probably illegal for him to own a gun.

"Why should he, or his father, have the gall to sponsor, lobby for and especially vote on any kind of legislation that would restrict the rights of law-abiding gun owners," Gottlieb said. "Both of these guys must think that average American gun owners are as irresponsible with their firearms as they have been with their automobiles.

"It's no wonder, when you think about it, how some legislation gets passed on Capitol Hill," Gottlieb said, "when the people voting on it may not be sober or are under the influence of drugs."

Gottlieb noted that a waitress at a Washington, D.C. establishment told reporters that Kennedy had been drinking prior to the crash. Although that allegation has not been confirmed, Gottlieb said that Kennedy has already admitted that taking two sleep-inducing drugs before the getting behind the wheel was "grossly irresponsible."

"But, then again, with both Kennedy senior and junior," Gottlieb concluded, "irresponsible behavior appears to be something at which they excel."

So, a bunch of drunk geriatric drug attics are running the country?
I get it, we are screwed.

Kennedy

Well, SOMEBODY needs to take teddy to task for his hypocrisy and irresponsibility. Some of you well know my opinion on that fool, (extremely low), so I shall not repeat them here.:fire:
