Not gun related but some of the places we order dog and cat food from have raised everything - shipping included - and they have almost no canned food in stock.
Everyone on this forum has stated clearly they reload for economic reasons. Some like me consider economics tertiary; but cost and avoiding economic uncertainty are still prime motivation for being in the hobby.
I started in September 2019 solely in response to Walmart stopping the sale of ammo here in nova. Today I do it because I really enjoy it and now have a very reliable and ample supply of 9mm & 45ACP. I don’t really know off hand how much mine cost per round nor how much factory ammo costs if I could get it but as you/we said, that’s not why I do it anyway anymore.
Maybe not. But it’s important that the topic of what is happening in this Country is talked about no matter where that conversation is taking place.
After reading this thread I sent a text to a gunsmith buddy who works for a shop I used to frequent. They stopped stocking reloading supplies years ago. I asked if I could piggyback a few powder and primer (hazmat) orders on their ammo orders. He said as long as what I want is at their distributor, no problem. They’ll sell to me at cost. I never bothered asking because the owners always said they won’t stock reloading supplies again - but they do special orders for people who buy their custom guns. Thanks all for the idea!
