The bullet in question is the. 357 147 gr TC "smiley face". It has been speculated here, whether or not the design on the nose would initiate any disruption or expansion. I can say conclusively NO, at least in a. 38+p loading.

These were fired at relatively close range, 15-20 yards into green birch logs. Load is a +p charge of Autocomp referencing a similar jacketed bullet. My next trick will be to drive some into similar targets with a healthy load of H110 out of my Henry SS, but I'll have to wait until more bullets arrive.

The bullet far right is a Magtech 158 LRN over a stout 38 load of Power Pistol.

On the plus side, I found this bullet to be extremely accurate from my 6" Taurus 66. On par with my best SWC target load. I was able to apply a very light crimp with my standard Lee dies, and noticed no setback. I wasn't stomping on them, but not babying them either. It was a healthy +p loading. Very clean with no jacket fouling evident. They do quite well from my wife's snubby also.
