Wondering if anyone has had any hands-on experience with the Rock Island (Armscor) .380. It's supposed to be a mini-1911 and I like that it's locked breech.

Opinions? Experience? Going price?

Thanks.

I was not only wondering about that, but also the feasibility of having a 9x18 mm conversion barrel made up for it...could be interesting RE the hotter loads in BOTH calibers-as well as the convenience of a barrel swap vs needing a barrel press to change barrels(like the 9x18 to 9x17 conversion barrels on Makarovs and P64's).

I like the way you think.

I believe it is a slicked up Llama Micro Max which Is blowback and a neat shooter sadly out of production....have not seen one in person yet but Gun Test magazine gave it an A grade and specifices it is a locked breech.

For the sake of comparison, the attached picture is what the locked breech system looks like in Browning 1911-380. Note a kidney shaped cam slot.
