Romanian contract VZ24 Cleanup

Well the Karg stock got here today. It’s a sporter stock, but dine very well.


The comb and grip were spliced on years ago and the wood on one side has swelled a little, but it’s still secure. This will be a cosmetic repair to blend the line.


The holes for the aluminum buttplate don’t line up and need to be filled and re-drilled.
It’s not much work and shouldn’t take more then two evenings to complete.

I have two VZ24 in 7mm (yes 7mm Mauser) that came from south America got them 10 years ago they shoot all over the place can't hold a group at all I just test fired them and never bothered again.

But I do think that one day I will clean them up and refinish the stock like Gunny is doing. The bores are actually not that bad but I need to strip them down and see why they just won't shoot unless they just need hand loaded ammo to group.

Here is a couple pics they don't look so bad in the pics but in person you can tell the wood is grimy and rather dinged up.

I’ve got a Vz24 in 7mm that came out of South America. When I got it, it was just a barreled action. I didn’t have a stock for a turned down bolt, so I just used one I had on hand. I got a straight handle bolt for it for now.
It needs to be cleaned up.
