I have been bitten pretty hard for the last couple of years with milsurps, and my most recent acquisition, although not C&R eligible, is a M1969 Romanian trainer that has the 5 shot mag and flip down sights for 25, 75, and 100 yards. Since this is a Romanian rifle, I wonder if the sights might actually be in meters, rather than yards? Anyway, are there any other M1969 owners or enthusiasts on THR? Heck, are there any owners that don't like them? I just love this rifle but I honestly don't have any trigger time with it yet. I know there are other forums that are geared specifically to milsurps, and I belong to a few of them, some even to the Mosin Nagant, the rifle that got me started in all of this. I also own a Hakim in 8mm, a real powerhouse that I have had for over 20 years.

Have on the wife got for my birthday some years ago when they where common and cheep. Its a nice little rifle and shoots dern good for as crude as it looks.

i love mine and the folding leaf sights are indeed regulated in metres

mine is very accurate and there are only 2 downsides to the rifle
1. availability of mags...replacement mags are made in Taiwan
2. mounting a scope on it is a little complicated compared to other .22lr rifles.

the "rail" atop the receiver isn't meant to mount a scope...it is a gripping surface during manufacture...the angles are different

Actually it is a scope rail, but it isn't sized in US units rather it is a European small bore, I think 8mm, lots about that at rimfire too.
