I sold my SR 1911 only because it was a full length gun and I find it much more comfortable to carry a 4". Knowing that Ruger was coming out with a commander made my decision to sell that much easier, plus I made a $150 on the deal. Anyway, now that they are available, I see that they come with 7 round mags and Ruger advertises their capacity as 7+1 while their SR1911 is 8+1. I thought most commander sized guns had full size frames with a shortened slide like my Kimber Pros. I thought that only the officers models had shorter frames. Did Ruger do something different here?
